I use Transmission for torrents.įor some reason, this downloads as a 'damaged'. If anyone has trouble with slow download speed, try using the Torrent link. Then I tried using The Unarchiver to unzip and it worked. Unzipping with the stock unzipper got me an error right at the end, tried several times. Then I used Show Package Contents in the right-click menu. I tried the xattr -cr and it did not change, but I did not try with sudo. I want to make a install/utility stick with the installer.Īfter downloading, the file icon had a slash. I'm already on Mavericks, so all file operations were performed on it.

While I appreciate people uploading, the illogical packaging and awkwardness made me feel like there was something malevolent with this download. I ran several scans and did not come up with rootkits. I quickly shut down, booted from a backup, and had to delete the files (all of them, who knows what's in that mess) with rm -rf to clear them out. And I could not get rid of the external file, Traah would not empty, and rm -rf did not work either.Įven after a restart the error said the file was active. UPDATE: After getting the Installer file out of the pointless packaging, I started to have slow Finder and erratic trackpad issues.

And stumped as to why the zip file will not open for me. I am stumped as to why this is the only version they will not let you download. I'm very very sad because I need to make a bootable drive and Apple does not offer THIS InstallMacOSX! I can DL the versions above and below - but NOT MAVERICKS.

I tried opening THAT zip file (hoping for different results) but the same thing happened. It downloaded differently (as described in other reviews) so I looked at the package contents and found the same zip file that I got from the zip link. After all that I decided to try the Torrent link. Please check that you have transferred or created the zipfile in the appropriate BINARY mode and that you have compiled UnZip properly). I tried Archive Utility (Error 1 - Operation not permitted), Stuffit and The Unarchiver (both crashed) and the Terminal (which said there were xtra bytes at the beginning or within zipfile, attempting to process anyway - then - start of central directory not found zipfile corrupt.
